Stone Designs is a prominent Madrid-based design studio founded by Cutu Mazuelos and Eva Prego in 1995, renowned for its integrated approach encompassing industrial and Product design, interior design, and art direction. With a focus on respect for nature and a quest to evoke emotions through spaces and forms, the studio combines aesthetic simplicity with functionality.

For three decades, they have collaborated with renowned international firms, creating lasting, sustainable solutions imbued with a unique identity that humanises each project.

A trip to the Atomic Age and American diner in Gijón
ATM. Atomic Burgers, located in Gijón, boasts a unique identity. In this establishment, Stone Designs recaptures the visual and emotional universe of the Atomic Age, when, after World War II, the world lived under the shadow of nuclear threat. This period is defined by an optimistic, original, and profoundly futuristic aesthetic, influenced by both nuclear energy and the nascent Space Age. The interior design also evokes typical American burger joints and diners.

The walnut, the central element of the project's material palette
To recreate all of this, Stone Designs opted for a material palette that emphasises efficiency, naturalness, and expressiveness: walnut, terrazzo, and surfaces that engage with industrial textures and contemporary techniques. And, specifically for these Wood elements (present in the panelling, diner-style benches, bar cladding, and other decorative and furniture elements), a decorative surface from Finsa was selected.

We're talking about the FibraPan® Decor covered with the Nogal Canaletto decorative with Mesura finish. This surface, from the Duo range, offers a classic American walnut design with a prominent mesh grain and a rich tone. It's undoubtedly an ideal choice to complement the terrazzo and Rojo accents in the restaurant.
