Wood construction

Wood construction is an increasingly valued option for its versatility, sustainability, and efficiency. This natural, renewable material is used in a wide variety of projects, from housing to public buildings to temporary structures. In addition to its warm and inviting aesthetic, wood offers excellent thermal and acoustic insulation properties, making it a construction solution with high technical and functional value.

Construction solutions in wood

Unlike other materials, wood stores carbon throughout its life cycle, actively contributing to sustainable development goals and the transition toward low-carbon societies and circular economies.

Wood requires less energy to process compared to materials such as steel or concrete, reinforcing its role as an environmentally responsible alternative. As a renewable, reusable, and recyclable resource, its incorporation into modern construction systems represents a clear commitment to efficiency, innovation, and respect for the environment.

Based on our experience with wood construction systems, analysis of building processes, and ongoing dialogue with our clients, at Finsa we develop new ideas and innovations that add value through our materials.

Our goal is clear: to build more and better with wood, taking advantage of the many technical and environmental benefits it offers as a first-class construction material.

  • Partitions and roofs

Wood-based solutions for interior partitions and roofs provide structural lightness, quick assembly, and high thermal performance. Our panels allow for the configuration of efficient and aesthetically integrated construction systems, both in new construction and renovations. Their dimensional stability and ease of machining make them an ideal choice for projects requiring precision and reliability, optimising installation times without sacrificing performance.

  • Mezzanines

For mezzanine systems, we offer solutions that balance mechanical strength, insulation, and sustainability. Our boards are designed to withstand residential or commercial loads and are compatible with industrialised and lightweight construction systems. They are suitable for both new construction and structural reinforcement projects in renovations, offering a more sustainable alternative to traditional systems.

  • Structural Wood

Beyond the specific use of elements, engineered wood allows for the development of complete structural systems: from lightweight frameworks to industrialised systems. Finsa offers the sector a full range of technical and structural panels that enable construction with sustainability, energy efficiency, and decarbonization criteria. Its use helps reduce the building's environmental impact without compromising durability or safety.

SuperPan® Tech

SuperPan® Tech is a structural panel composed of wood fibre faces and an interior of agglomerated wood particles.

It is an innovative solution, patented by Finsa, that we manufacture exclusively through a continuous pressing process. This technique gives it excellent performance in various industrial technologies, as it combines the main advantages of MDF and chipboard.

  • SuperPan® H Tech P5 EZ SA

    • Technical floors and structural floors.
    • Light frames on facades, roofs or partitions.
    • Industrialised modular construction platforms.

SuperPan® H Tech P5 EZ SA is a P5-rated structural panel suitable for humid environments, offering high flexural strength—ideal for traffic floors—great airtightness to meet Passivhaus standards, and compatibility with high-performance insulation systems.

  • Insulation and enclosure systems

For a wood construction system to function properly, it must be protected from the elements while allowing the building to breathe. Here, two products come into play that complement the structural board and improve the energy efficiency and durability of the envelope.

FibraPan® Tech RWH EZ for the outer layer in lightweight trusses
It is a low-density wood fiberboard developed for use as an exterior closing layer in frame structures, with highly breathable behaviour. It facilitates the migration of water vapour from the interior of the building to the exterior, preventing internal condensation and associated pathologies.

SuperPan® VapourStop EZ for intermediate or interior layer in enclosures
It is a technical evolution of the SuperPan® H Tech, which incorporates a water vapour and air barrier film, offering a 2-in-1 solution: structural resistance + hygrothermal control.

Colaborations

At Finsa we understand construction as a collective process that is enriched through collaboration. We actively work with companies and industry players who share our vision of more efficient, sustainable, and innovative construction. These synergies allow us to integrate our solutions into complete construction systems, respond to new market challenges, and explore applications beyond the panelboard.

Some of our notable collaborations include:

Ventilated facades

Ventilated façade systems protect the building's enclosure from the outside environment thanks to their air chamber. Savia, a Finsa brand, has developed Thermopine heat-treated pine slats and profiles for this application, a low-carbon, renewable material with great outdoor durability. The dimensional stability that characterises this material makes it ideal for facade applications, allowing the designer to bring the warmth of high-performance wood to the building's façade, offering a natural and 100% recyclable skin.

CLT wood structures

At the CLT Xilonor factory in Coirós, A Coruña, a company owned by Finsa, together with Maderas Goiriz, we manufacture CLT panels for industrialised construction using solid wood panels.
CLT, or cross-laminated timber, is a structural construction material that is manufactured in the form of panels composed of several layers of glued sawn timber boards placed perpendicularly on top of each other.
CLT panels can have various structural functions. As load-bearing walls, they withstand vertical forces and offer lateral stability; their flexural strength and dimensional stability make them an excellent choice for horizontal slabs, and their lightness and ease of assembly are a major advantage when installing roof slabs.

You can try Xilodim, the new application for pre-dimensioning CLT structures.

Gradpanel ThermoPine Solar Control

The Gradpanel system by Gradhermetic with Savia's Thermopine is a sustainable, low-impact, and recyclable façade cladding and solar control system for façade openings. The system's materiality offers a durable, heat-treated pine cladding with a minimal carbon footprint. Combined with Gradhermetic's recycled aluminium substructure, this makes it possible to design a building skin with a low environmental impact.

ROOM2030

It is a Spanish company that fuses technology, modular design, and sustainability to create smart, scalable, and agile industrialised living spaces.

In several of their flagship projects—such as Casa Sela, Casa Ranón, and the Zeluán Interpretation Centre—they use Savia's Thermopine heat-treated pine wood. This material provides a natural aesthetic, warmth, and excellent durability in harsh weather conditions, in addition to being sustainable and chemical-free.
