To enhance through aesthetic elements the expectations and interest of potential consumers. This was the basis for the work performed by the architectural studio REQUENA Y PLAZA for the interior design project of Herbolario Azahara, based on the concept of “natural”, to transmit order and serenity. And for this reason they opted for wood, creating a space dominated by slatted cladding in the Roble Hércules finish from our Gama Duo.

“The configuration of a retail establishment has to be closely linked to its business objectives, its corporate values and the expectations of potential consumers. And this triple alignment is achieved when working hand in hand with a client, such as Herbolario Azahara, who knows what it wants, but who also allows itself to be advised”, says Juan Luis Requena, founding partner of Requena y Plaza.

In coherence with the three decades of history of the local brand Herbolario Azahara, REQUENA Y PLAZA wanted to provide the space with an atmosphere of trust and familiarity, in order to make visitors feel as if they were in their own home. A completely open space has been designed with a ceiling simulating a gabled roof and open to the shopping centre through windows and glass doors, reminiscent at times of a traditional log cabin.

In the interior, the configuration of the space is at the service of the commercial strategy. We see it in the shelves that surround the entire perimeter, which take advantage of the maximum height and every square centimetre to achieve a striking product display, which helps and facilitates the search and identification of references. They have also applied it to the design of the counter, a traditional and necessary element in a retail space, designed to draw attention to the rest of the environment. It has been constructed with a composite synthetic resin material that has among its properties good impact resistance and high light conduction, which contrasts with the rest of the natural-looking coatings.

The use or provision of Finsa products in REQUENA Y PLAZA projects is quite common and can be found in several of the studio's recent works, such as the Amura Hotel in Alcobendas, the AENA offices or the Conde Duque hotel in Madrid, among others. In this case they have opted for flame retardant chipboard because of its characteristics in terms of weight-handling ratio provide speed of assembly and manufacture, without losing sight of the existing stock and its competitive cost, according to REQUENA Y PLAZA. On the other hand, the Roble Hércules finish from our Gama Duo contributes towards generating an atmosphere of confidence and tranquillity which is associated with wood, but with the advantages of melamine in terms of maintenance.

“Thanks to the work of REQUENA Y PLAZA we have managed to create one of the most attractive shops in the shopping centre. The team of professionals has been excellent and working with them has been a pleasure”, concludes Rosa María Ávila, owner of the herbal shop.
