The project aims to incorporate a new type of raw material in the board manufacturing process, based on the use of industrial, agricultural and forestry waste, which will significantly increase the circularity of Finsa's products and manufacturing processes. At the same time, given the importance of the processes of drying, cleaning, separation of fibreboard (MDF) waste and dipping the shavings in glue or resin, in the final strength of the board, its functionality and quality; the behaviour of recycled materials in all these processes is analysed. On the other hand, a redesign of the current board concept is proposed to improve its basic functionalities and adapt its configuration, while process modifications are carried out to reduce the amount of bonding agents.
The project is implemented at the Finsa factory in Cella (Teruel).
