Sometimes it is difficult to choose materials when projects have tight deadlines and budgets. REQUENA Y PLAZA was charged with remodelling a traditional 1980s hotel in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The challenge was not trivial: they had to bring the hotel into the 21st century at the lowest cost and in the shortest time possible. "We saw a clear solution through FINSA's prefabricated panelling, which ensured that we met the client's requirements," the practice explains.

"This type of technical wood provides, above all, quality and also uniformity in the materials used," they explain, adding that "the product combines two essential requirements for the industry: technically, it offers very good functionality and, aesthetically, it achieves attractive results.

Why did the firm choose FINSA products? REQUENA Y PLAZA clarifies that they have no set ideas for the choice of suppliers of materials: "First we look at the client's brief, then we set the objective and develop our ideas, which can usually be achieved in different ways with different possible materials. And, finally, we choose the supplier that we think is most suitable for what we want to achieve in the project."

The application of Fimaplast Oak Aurora Atlas, Oak Virginia Deep Grain and Oak Hera Sega can be appreciated in the bedrooms (furniture, headboard, closet and desk) and in the common areas (furniture). The choice of FINSA materials was decided by "the ease with which we could receive samples to confirm our ideas for the project, as well as the wide range of finishes", according to REQUENA Y PLAZA.

Ultimately, despite not having fixed suppliers, the studio values "the important innovations that FINSA has offered to the market with flat boards and melamine... providing very high quality at an affordable price for this type of product."
