The CUBia initiative is a pioneering project in Galicia and at the national level that seeks to transform the management of forest resources through the use of LiDAR-SLAM and LiDAR UAV-ALS technologies, artificial intelligence and innovative approaches based on experimental quantum computing modules (QML/QRC).
The main objective is to develop and validate an intelligent forest volume system that allows the replacement of the traditional manual inventory with a digital, decentralised, and remote system, linked to the capture of data through advanced sensors. The data obtained will be processed using artificial intelligence algorithms to carry out predictive modelling that will be validated with real factory data.
This new paradigm aims to improve the competitiveness of the timber sector through scalable and accurate inventories that facilitate decision-making based on sustainability criteria, circular economy and transparency in the forestry value chain. Finally, the project will integrate these solutions into a digital platform that guarantees the traceability of resources throughout the value chain.
