An elderly living facility should be, first and foremost, a home. And what makes a space feel like home? "Brightness and warmth above all," says María José Francés, part of the sales department at Kaudex, the designer in charge of the elderly living facility project in Malgrat, Barcelona.

For this mission, technical wood was fundamental, according to Kaudex: "The material helps us to achieve dimensions and characteristics that would be impossible with other products". Fibraplast Olmo Bovary Atlas and Blanco Soft III were the choices for cabinets, bedside tables, headboards and shelves in the bedrooms of this elderly living centre.

Francés explains that at Kaudex "no project is repeated, they all have their own character." In this case, he explains that the challenge of this type of centre lies in "adapting to the great variety of sizes, since each bedroom is different and has particular features that technical wood adapts to perfectly".

The company uses Finsa panels in almost all of its projects, "because we can vouch that it is a business that delivers on time that also has a wide variety of finishes and colours," he says. "This allows us to design without constraints and offer our customers a wide range of options to choose from," he concludes.
