Wood solutions for lacquering

Lacquers on MDF fulfill a double function of protection and embellishment: they defend the wooden board from surface damage while increasing its aesthetic beauty.

Types of boards to lacquer

At Finsa we have the following five types of wood boards for lacquering:

Superpan Plus lacquer board: wooden board that offers quality lacquering at more competitive costs.
Fibralac MDF lacquering board: board for demanding machining on faces and edges.
Compac Plus lacquer board:high-density board (HDF), specially designed for demanding finishes that require extra stability.
Varnishable melamine: unfinished product with a surface designed for the final application of lacquer or varnish.
Melamine Fab: unfinished product that has an appropriate surface to apply direct finishing.

Lacquered board applications

These lacquered wooden boards are optimal for lacquering or painting in commercial projects: exhibition stands and supports, counters, moldings, bas-relief effects and product design or as decorative solutions in stores.

Lacquer recommendations

We give you the following recommendations for board lacquering:

Carry out a preliminary test to check compatibility: when a surface treatment (varnish, oil, waxes...) is to be applied, we recommend checking whether it is suitable for the board's coating.

Use a sealing product before applying the surface treatment: transparent finishes can darken the initial tone of the board.

Seals edges to ensure good board performance: transparent pigmented finishes may have a slight tonal variation between the board surface and the edges. Edge sealing mitigates the absorption effect.

Avoid direct exposure to sunlight so that color changes do not occur, although high-resistance natural pigments are used in its manufacture.
