“Why FINSA floors? Due to the wide range of finishes in different categories of resistance and hardness, as well as their adaptability for use with an underfloor heating and cooling system”.

Alfredo Díaz Soto, architect.

Sometimes it is necessary to break moulds and start the house from the ground up. Each project has its own objectives: in this case, the intensive use of walkers and wheelchairs in a nursing home limited the choice of flooring. It was necessary to combine strength and, of course, the warmth of a home.

Finfloor Original Garapa was the chosen option. Why? According to the architect Alfredo Díaz Soto, of Acid Consultoría Técnica, “due to the wide range of finishes in different categories of resistance and hardness as well as their adaptability for use with an underfloor heating and cooling system”.

What does this flooring bring to the project and why is it so relevant? From an aesthetic and visual point of view, “this floor gives great warmth and comfort to the room in which it is used, creating cosy spaces where people spend long periods of time”, said Díaz Soto.

As for the technical aspects, this solution, in the architect's words, “adapts to the needs that a building used for social and health care may require thanks to its quick and easy installation, the material's resistance to wear and tear, its easy cleaning and disinfection, and its good long-term maintenance” .

At the same time, despite being an insulating material, this product offers a laying technique that allows it to be adapted for a climate control system by means of a hot-cold radiant floor installation. Díaz Soto values the result after its installation and commissioning at the nursing home as “effective and relevant due to its energy efficiency”.

The team appreciated FINSA's support as key “in all phases of the project and work: from the provision of catalogues, technical data sheets, guidance for the choice of material and subsequently for the supply of a large quantity of product for installation on site”, concluded Díaz Soto.
