LAZOS aims to develop and validate a digital ecosystem that connects the manufacture and distribution of decorative surface panels. The project will enable each product unit to be identified and tracked throughout the value chain, associating each panel with a digital identity containing information on its manufacturing process, characteristics, quality controls, location and logistics operations.
The initiative will integrate real-time location technologies, sensor technology, computer vision, data analytics, artificial intelligence and digital twins. The aim is to improve quality control, planning, predictive maintenance, inventory management and order fulfilment, as well as to reduce errors, losses and the consumption of raw materials and energy. The solutions will be validated in real industrial and logistics environments at FINSA and Maderas Besteiro in Santiago de Compostela and Lugo.
FINSA is leading the project and coordinating the integration and industrial validation of the new solutions, whilst Maderas Besteiro is providing the distribution perspective and is involved in adapting the warehouse, stock management, assisted picking and the management of multi-SKU parcels. LAZOS is being developed as part of the Industria Innova programme, managed by the Galician Institute for Economic Promotion (IGAPE), and is co-funded by the European Union through the Galicia ERDF 2021–2027 programme.
