The IHP group has become a national and international reference in the integral design of hotel projects. After having completed more than 160 hotels around the world, including the Novotel Madrid Center of which we have already spoken, this year it was the turn of its Madrid headquarters. For the renovation of the offices where the company was founded, IHP has relied on its own multidisciplinary team of architects, engineers and interior designers.
Carla Gomes, interior designer at IHP, confesses that it is not easy to design in-house, making decisions about the space where you and your colleagues are going to work. The starting premise was “to create a timeless design”, and when it came to its realisation, the aim was “to ensure that the project to be developed was the right one from an aesthetic, constructive, functional and economic point of view”.
The office space is structured in a large open area, following the trend of “open spaces”, surrounded by meeting rooms. To provide them with the required privacy, but without losing the visual connection with the rest of the space, glass walls are used.
In the effort to achieve a space that combines “aesthetics and functionality”, the IHP group once again opted for Finsa materials, which it particularly values due to their combination of quality, design and price. In this case, two different types of natural wood veneer were used for wall cladding and furniture.
Carla Gomes explains that they opted for the  Fibranatur Roble Mallado with the lighter shade, which they installed in the reception area, both for the wall cladding and for the creation of customised furniture: seating, storage furniture, shelving... Visitors to the new offices are welcomed by the “warmth and quality of a natural and noble product such as oak” before going inside. They also used Fibranatur Roble Negro in the design of the furniture, such as the imposing reception furniture or the sideboards in the meeting rooms, to add a different touch.
